The location of the hotel in the gardens offers a stunning view over rolling hills and fields full of sheep and cattle, creating a serene atmosphere for couples. the in-house restaurant in the village provides an authentic dining experience with locally sourced produce. the rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the necessary facilities for a pleasant stay, including a saltwater swimming pool.
The owner's attitude towards guests and lack of hospitality may make couples feel unwelcome and not valued.

We were the only guests that night but in the morning a full breakfast had been laid on - full of homemade treats. Our room was real Portugal with views across the Alentejo with ever changing light. Perfect and peaceful.
There was no restaurant so we had to go into Portalegre for dinner but that turned out to be a pleasure rather than a chore!

Beautiful countryside. Staff were excellent, charming with children and breakfast stunning (amazing selection of local cheeses, homemade jams etc). Evening meal well worth having. Had outdoor pool to ourselves. Children play area clean and well maintained. Overall, a quiet place trying to make a name slightly off the tourist route but central for exploring the Alentejo by car.

Had a lovely Christmas break at a hotel surrounded by beautiful scenery, perfect for a quiet escape. the staff were welcoming and helpful, offering great advice for local restaurants and sights to see. the homemade jams and fresh squeezed orange juice were a definite highlight at breakfast. the location offered a perfect opportunity to wake up early and observe the local wildlife in the fields.
The hotel was very secluded, making it difficult to find and it was quite far from any town or city. the quietness may not suit everyone, and there wasn't much to do in the immediate area.

The pastoral setting and views from the hotel were very nice and scenic. The breakfast was well above average with very nice selection of local cusine. Manuel the proprietor was very nice and helpful and suggested a good place to eat dinner in the local town.
No we were very pleased with our stay although it was only for one night.

Fabulous hotel: friendly, courteous staff, beatifully appointed rooms, very very clean. Air-conditioning, great pool. Overall though, the staff, particularly the manageress, were excellent and that alone was invaluable.

The spaciousness of the accommodation, bathroom and bedroom. The high quality of furnishings, furniture, architecure of the highest order. Extensive grounds and huge, clean pool with plenty of loungers. Quiet surroundings on the edge of a village with an excellent restaurant and very reasonable prices. Easy driving on good roads, beautiful scenery, mountains within half an hour's drive. Excellent fresh extensive buffet breakfast. Very good value for money. We stayed a week and were given a bottle of the local wine as we left. We were also upgraded to the best room. The young woman in charge of the breakfast room was charming, as was the lady who cleaned. The owner was very helpful in recommending good restaurants.
Breakfast had, in effect, to be taken at 8.45am; this suited us but might be a problem with very young children who wake early, or anyone wanting to really take it easy and breakfast late. The entrance drive is rutted and bumpy. No-one speaks much English.

Nestled in a peaceful and beautiful countryside location, this hotel was a hidden gem. The homemade breakfast with locally sourced ingredients and freshly made jams was a treat in the mornings. The friendly staff made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The pool was also a great place to relax and soak up the sun.
The lack of signage on the roads leading to the hotel made it difficult to find, especially at night. However, the authentic local dishes served were delicious.
